Meet LadyLove® | Songwriter, Vocalist, Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with LadyLove® and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LadyLove®, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose to pursue my artistic passion and creativity because all I could do was think of rhythm and music. It’s how I survived. I breathe and feel nothing but rhythms. I appreciate the way that it synchronizes my livelihood; music infuses in my daily routines and helps me to think and create a world where I’m able to balance logic and emotion.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most proud of the opportunity to face my fears. It’s not always easy to take an idea or a thought seriously and then put it in action. You have an idea and then you may decide to share that idea with others that may not see eye to eye; then, you may get discouraged and forget the whole thing. But courage and stepping out on faith is such a profound privilege and yet a fragile process because you’re open to the unknown. You have to accept and embrace it. Once you accept that you’re no longer in control once you make a decision, and the actions you take literally is creating the path for you, you begin to learn that your faith is in control and that is a strong secure space once you realize it. Courage and trust is what I believe has a positive impact on my current status in life. My faith in courage and trust helped me get through the roughest and toughest times in my journey in life.
When fear showed up, when disappointment came and distractions seemed to be beside me, I knew deep inside that there was a new way of being and a better way of thinking. If it wasn’t for the struggles and the challenges that I faced, I would have a different outlook. I would be more fearful of losing then grateful to win; every time. Even when it looks like a lost, it’s a win because I choose to find the lesson and build upon the lessons. No matter how many lessons, I find a new opportunity for growth in each one and thats victory to me. I want the world to know how amazing they are and that they are brilliantly and specially designed. I’m excited to see how the world learns about themselves and how to cherish their lives and what they’ve learned in their life. My music tells these stories and the world will hear and see in my music and artist representations.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have her stay at the Embassy Suites hotel here in the metropolitan area of Detroit, MI. I would then make sure we pay a visit to the Aretha Jazz Cafe and Sound Board for music and action! We would also visit the Opera House for a more theatrical experience and then head downtown to eat at the best restaurants in town! One stop we must visit is the Shinola watch factory. Furthermore our visit must be endearing by visiting Greenfield Village, Belle Isle Aquarium, Ford House Museum, Motown Hitsville, and the finale, taking a stroll back in time to embrace the African American Museum!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my mother. Her endurance and strength to keep moving forward and preserving through challenges that one may deem impossible; she was able to achieve, stand and overcome. Her endurance helped me to endure. I salute you Laurie Jean Tellis Wilson.
