Meet Lajuanna Robinson | Fitness Lifestyle Coach, M.S Exercise Physiologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lajuanna Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lajuanna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Whole Body Fitness by Lajuanna is my love and passion for fitness as it relates to our physical health, spiritual health, mental health and overall quality of life. I also care about the people I serve and enjoy helping them go from a sedentary lifestyle to making fitness a lifestyle while becoming leaner and improving their strength, flexibility, and balance. When you love what you do the focus is on helping people as well a making a difference in my community: better health equates to a reduction in obesity and chronic diseases.
What should our readers know about your business?
Whole Body Fitness with Lajuanna focuses on helping individuals make fitness a lifestyle as they achieve their goals to lose weight, build lean muscle, improve their core balance and cardio endurance as well as improve their physical, mental, and spiritual strength. I work one on one with various populations (men and women) in their 20’s to 70’s who also want to improve the quality of their lives and I design programs based on their individual needs. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I care about the quality of service and that my clients know that I really care about them and that I love helping them achieve long lasting success. I make clients work hard and they always leave smiling and return for more hard work because of the results they are getting. I have two vocational passions: Licensed hairstylist for more than 30 years and an Exercise Physiologist for 10 years and counting. I worked in management at a credit union for over 20 years and I always wanted to pursue fitness but didn’t have the courage to pursue it until I was released from the credit union. Being let go from my previous employer was Gods way clearing the path for me to pursue fitness. Although I was terrified I just knew this was what I was meant to do and after I received my certification as a Fitness Trainer I went to graduate school and pursued my Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology and the rest is my-story. I love what I get to do.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love all of the positive growth and development that has been going on in the city of Detroit. There are lots of new retail shops, and restaurants to explore. I recently had a friend visit from Atlanta Georgia and I enjoyed taking her to the iconic Eastern Market where you can get fresh produce from local farmers in Michigan, I also took her to the Charles Wright Museum, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Motown Museum. She enjoyed eating dinner at one of the best soul food restaurants called Savannah Blue and she especially enjoyed Baobab Fare, an East African restaurant where the food is amazing. Detroit has come a long way and it continues to be a great place to hang out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It is important to start off by dedicating my shoutout to my four daughters whom I love dearly and know that they love me. It is a blessing to be their mom and I am thankful that I have a good relationship with them.
I have had many people in my life who have encouraged me directly and indirectly. I am encouraged by individuals who lived their lives serving others and who also use their God given internal gifts doing what they love to serve others. I also listen to various motivating and empowering interviews and documentaries of Muhammad Ali, Maya Angelou, and Wayne Dyer, These individuals empowered others through self determination, self love, and love for others. As a fitness lifestyle coach and as a hairstylist I strive to empower, educate, and encourage others as I help them achieve their wellness goals.
