Meet Lindsay Bowman | Furniture Refinisher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Bowman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsay, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process had everything to do with being able to have freedom from a 8:30-5p job and work solely for myself. Having the ability to make my own schedule, be there for my kids when they need me without fear of consequences. How can I make this dream come to fruition and then making it happen took time and patience but I made it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I take old discarded furniture and give it new purpose and life through restoration if I’m able to, or paint! I take special attention to detail in every piece that I refinish. Details matter to me because they matter to my clients. This is what sets me apart from other artists in my area of work.
I want every piece that comes from my business to be its absolute best, unique and one of a kind.
I’m always learning something new in this business and I’ll always strive to learn every step of the way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Owosso Michigan a city that’s definitely been building itself on small businesses and unique shops downtown. A day of shopping downtown and stopping at all the boutiques, markets and coffee shops would be a fabulous day out. A trip to the live theatre is a must, whether it be a play or a comedy night, it will not disappoint.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank all of my family, friends, and customers that believed in me from day 1 and have not stopped!
