We had the good fortune of connecting with Loui$ Automatic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loui$, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Whenever I think about quitting I’m instantly reminded of the pain I’ve endured to get to this point. It’s like that emptiness is a trigger for the strength I need to persevere. I’ve been through that cycle so much that it’s like an instinct. Like self preservation. As long as I’m here I will create.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Paid-Da-Co$t was a venture that I brought to life many years ago as a business idea but now that idea has morphed into a lifestyle. Being born and raised in the city of Detroit I realized that we all “Paid-Da-Co$t” in some form or fashion and my brand represents the spirit of Detroit. The hard working determination that Detroit is known for coupled with the glamor and esteem that Detroit’s known for as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ima start with 7 mile that’s first and foremost the Westside capitol! lol but seriously I would take them to Belle Isle as well as a cruise down Woodward Ave. Definitely gotta get a bite from my favorite Coney Island restaurant! There’s so much new stuff to do downtown we might just park and walk around.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my mother who endowed me with the artistic spirit to bring to life whatever I can conceive from my mind. It is because of her that I believe anything is possible!
