We had the good fortune of connecting with Luke Hessler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Luke, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In college I was introduced to some interesting statistics that showed 54% of college graduates were unemployed or unemployed following graduation. There was also a poll done on good morning America that showed 78% of people hated their job. These two statistics combined with me to rethink what I wanted to do for my career. Then, at 19 years old I met someone who is 25 that was earning $40,000 a month from an online business. He didn’t have any college degree and was able to work from anywhere. In that moment, I decided if he could do it, so could I, and committed to figuring out how to make money online so I could gain true time and financial freedom two things that weren’t possible working at traditional job.
 

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I only digital PR firm called Ace Branding where we specialize in helping leaders entrepreneurs and businesses, transform their online reputation press, podcasts, and regional appearances.

In the digital world often times first impressions are from a Google or social media search rather than a handshake or a conversation. Therefore your online reputation, or what others call your personal brand, is an asset worth investing in.

What sets us apart is that we practice what we preach. I personally have build up a follow of social media consisting of hundreds of thousands of people, have been featured in major media such as Forbes, and have been a featured guest on dozens of podcasts. I know what our services work because I use them every day myself. Just like you shouldn’t trust an overweight person to help you get in shape, you shouldn’t trust a branding or social media expert who hasn’t built their own brand. As they say, by their fruits you shall know them.

I’m most proud about the positive impact we’re making on others. Our mission as Ace Branding is to serve those who serve others and over the last 7 years I’ve worked with over impact driven 1500 clients to achieve this mission. We believe you can have anything you want in the world by helping enough other people get what they want, and that’s the philosophy that drives everything we do at our company.

The journey to get to where I am today has been a roller coaster. I’ve made millions, lost millions, and then made it back again. The secret is not to get too high during the highs and not to get too low during the lows. Success is kind of like the seasons. Sometimes it’s the summer and everything seems to be going right. Other times it’s the winter and everything seems to be going wrong. The key is to keep Faith and never give up regardless of your circumstances.

I was able to overcome the challenges I went through because I didn’t have another choice. I was all in. I dropped out of college to build my business so getting a normal job wasn’t an option. I had to make it work.

But I want the world to know about my brand in my story is that I’m an average kid from small town Northern Michigan with above average goals and dreams. I’ve gone through the highest and the lowest lows, but through it all I remain true to myself I want to inspire others to believe in themselves. I believe that anybody can become successful if they’re willing to work hard, dream, big, and remain coachable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my view, some of the most fun and interesting places to check out in Traverse City, the wineries on the peninsula, Power Island, and the hikes of M22 in Leelanau county.

In the winter we love skiing at boyne and Crystal and as well as tubing at Timerlee.

Some of our favorite restaurants include Artison, Boathouse, and Mama Lou’s.

I also loving golfing at the Arcadia Bluffs, the Resort, and Bahlee Farms.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents are the reason I am where I am today. Growing up they always told me that I could have beer or do anything that I wanted in the world as long as I loved God and treated other people as I’d like to be treated they taught me to have dream big, work hard, and never give up. Without them, I don’t know where I would be today
