We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Howell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madison, how do you define success?
I define success in a way that you wouldn’t normally define it. It’s usually defined when you go to an event and get sale after sale. For me, its not like that. Some people would think I would probably be very disappointed, even when I don’t sell a thing. Success to me is being exposed, just being in the environment where people see you and your products. When they read your logo, or take a business card. Success is not because I made a sale, it is because the word is out there and I’m being acknowledged. That’s what it means to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am most proud of how far we have come. Since I was 8 to now 12, I can’t believe I’ve come this far. It’s a lot of hard work but I get through it with my parents and family. I love that I am growing up with my business. I want the world to know that, I can’t wait to be worldwide!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, place an order with Maddy’s Juice Bar! Depending on their mood, they can start by dressing up in fancy clothes and go get some food at a fancy restaurant. Next, they can go to a fair to eat more food and ride rides. Then, they could go to the mall and spend $3,000 on anything they wanted. Later, they could go swimming or to the movies, eat all the movie snacks and then have a sleepover and order doordash because this is what I would do! I love going places and being outside especially in the summer time having lunch outside drinking Maddy’s Juice Bar!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would like to shoutout Sandra Epps of Sandy’s Land in Detroit. Sandy owns The Detroit Dolls Show, pillow paint parties, face painting and other creative things. I first met her in 2017 when she painted my face. She painted my face again in 2018 and then my mom ended going to the same gym as her. In 2019, she face painted my 8th birthday party. I look up to Sandy because she’s a woman of Black culture and she shows that girls never give up. Sandy is very supportive of me and my business. She invited me to sell my juices at her shows/events and I always sell out! She makes me feel welcome and she encourages me to keep going because I see how she is in love with her brand just like I am in love with mine. I hope to be as successful as Sandy one day.
