Meet Mike D | Host of the Wrestling from the 313 podcast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike D and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, what makes you happy? Why?
There is two things that make me happy. One is spending time with my family, and last working on my podcast. Spending time with my family makes me happy, because it’s that time you can get away from reality for a while, and have a good time with loved ones. Working on my podcast makes me happy, because I enjoy talking pro wrestling with people that are fans like me, or people who work in the industry. My podcast has opened up some opportunities for me to be a guest on other podcast’s and engage in pro wrestling discussions.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a wrestling podcast called Wrestling from the 313 that is on YouTube. I also have an online shop selling podcast merchandise called Tha 313 Shop, and I’m also working on a clothing line called Wrestle City Apparel. What I want the world to know about me is that I’m just trying to live my dream. I have a lot of fun with my podcast and I want to use it as a platform to open up other doors. I also want my podcast to be one of the best.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well we would have to definitely grab some food. I would definitely take them to the city and go to a Coney Island restaurant. You can’t visit Detroit and not eat at Coney Island. I would also take them to Buddy’s Pizza downtown since I love pizza. We would definitely hit up my favorite chicken and fish restaurant in Oak Park, MI. The name of the restaurant is Alaska Fish and Chicken and it is one of the best places to eat. The food is amazing! We would have to go and catch a game by one of our sports teams downtown, and hit up Barcade or Dave and Buster’s

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my wife Chantal. We both are wrestling fans and we always go to the WWE shows when they come to Detroit. She always told me that I should start a wrestling podcast, and she’s been very supportive since I started.
I also want to recognize my mom, dad and sister for all of their support and encouraging me to keep pushing forward with my dream. Also I want to recognize some of the podcasters I’ve worked with in the past year. Shoutout to CranderQ, host of the Friends of the Squared Circle podcast, JD from Mayhem Media, Samp & Chance from the Samp & Chance podcast. Joe Monroe from the Joe Monroe Show, The Wrestling Society Network and Abe from DET, Chuck Jordan, Coach DTM, and Ron T from the Holy Shhh Podcast representing Detroit. Also all the people I didn’t mention I thank you for being a part of this journey as well.
