We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Fate and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, why did you pursue a creative career?
Honestly, I pursue music because my soul feels like it’s what I’m here for and I wouldn’t be happy without it. I think everyone should follow their dreams and I can be an example that anyone can do whatever they believe in.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is about self expression at its core. I don’t always feel like I can express myself clearly until I write a song. I make songs about loneliness, anxiety, love, anger, and other emotions that I strive to understand through my expression of these feelings. It’s not easy being an artist but I love it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well since I moved to Miami, I’d take them to beaches and beautiful scenery in the day, and to night clubs and interesting events at night. I love ask the new people I met and the scenery is beautiful!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to dedicate my shoutout to the city of Detroit. I’ve done so much in, around, and for my hometown and learned who I am in the process. From the label I was signed to, to the event planners that booked me, I love my city.
