We had the good fortune of connecting with Mocha Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mocha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
That I can have anything I want in this world if I THINK I can. I learned young that if you can think it and feel it, you can create it. I got into entrepreneurship at a young age, with multiple hustles from selling candy to rubbing the feet of my elders, to eventually starting up a hair bundle business that made me my first $100,000.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
where do I even begin? My business journey has been anything but linear, but it’s been purposeful. I’m the founder of multiple brands, but the heart of it all is transformation—turning brands into movements and everyday interactions into unforgettable experiences.
Through Mogul to Mogul Consulting, I help entrepreneurs and organizations design elevated customer and client experiences that don’t just wow—they work. We don’t just focus on the “pretty”; we’re deep in the strategy, the systems, and the soul of how a business shows up for the people they serve.
What sets us apart? Easy. We don’t do basic. Everything we touch is rooted in premium care, strategy, and legacy-building. We’re not here to just help you launch a thing—we’re here to help you launch well, grow intentionally, and keep your clients coming back because they feel seen, valued, and connected.
I’m most proud of the lives we’ve impacted—from the business owners who’ve found clarity and confidence after working with us, to the clients who finally feel aligned with their brand’s purpose. And I’m especially excited about our upcoming collaborations and community-driven initiatives, because impact is non-negotiable over here.
Was it easy? Absolutely not. I’ve had to pivot, rebuild, and keep showing up when nothing made sense. I’ve launched with zero in my bank account and still delivered five-star experiences. The lessons? Start before you’re ready. Serve before you sell. And never forget your “why.”
To anyone reading this: I want the world to know that my story—and the story of my brand—is a love letter to possibility. I built this from scratch, with heart, grit, and an unshakeable vision. My mission is to make excellence the standard and show other visionaries that premium doesn’t have to mean out of reach.
You can be purpose-driven and profitable. You can lead with heart and build systems that scale. I’m proof.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I feel that it’s the people that make the vibe and not the places. When you’re with a group of people that’s like minded, full of love and life, and creativity- you can set the vibe right regardless of where you go.
I 100% would take them to my #1 local carryout restaurant, Premium Taste Catering, for the best affordable soul pleasing food around and If I had to create an actual agenda, I would reach out to the talented creative, Beno, who has his own Detroit Itinerary business. It’s pretty cool actually. It’s like an interactive tour guide, based on the people, the vibe, and what you want to do- he’s able to curate a pretty dope vibe full of fun, food, games and adventure. It’s called WENU.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. Mike & Jacquette. It’s because of them I had the confidence and support to feel like I can accomplish anything and be anything. I owe all of my success to them.
