We had the good fortune of connecting with Moon Reflections Photography Sacred & Supreme and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Moon Reflections Photography, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Sacred: Greetings, thank you for having us! Work-life balance has always felt like a goal just out of reach—almost unattainable. There was a time in our business when my husband, Supreme, wasn’t working within the company, which meant we spent a lot of time apart. To me, true balance is about cohesiveness and oneness, where family and business are equally valued and nurtured.
Now that we’re working together, we spend more time as a unit, allowing us to manage both business and family in a more integrated way. But real balance also requires making space for self-care, which can be the biggest challenge. Too often, we put ourselves last.

Today, we are more efficient, more aware, and more intentional about what truly matters to us—how we spend our time, our energy, and our focus.

Supreme: Working together means becoming more efficient with our time. Balancing family, personal life, and business requires managing multiple personalities—clients, our spouse, and, of course, our kids. Strong time management is essential to handling both work and household responsibilities.
With a two-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a 16-year-old, life can be pretty demanding. But that challenge pushes us to be intentional with our time, making sure we’re present for both our family and our business while maintaining focus on what truly matters.

What should our readers know about your business?
Supreme: We are a husband-and-wife business, both full-time, hands-on creatives who take immense pride in customer service and professionalism. For us, it’s not just about delivering a service—it’s about going above and beyond to create an experience.

We built our business from the ground up—no startup funds, no investors—just pure dedication, sweat, and hard work. Every step has been earned, and that’s something we carry with pride.
Sacred: Our goal has always been to remove the stress from our clients. We intentionally work with people we connect with because we believe trust is essential. We want our clients to feel understood, cared for, and confident that we have their best interests at heart.

Supreme: One of the things we are most proud of is being able to turn our passion into a career while making a real impact. We’re not just creating—we’re serving our community, helping small businesses, and teaching children a trade in the arts. We lead by example, showing others that success doesn’t have to follow a traditional path.
No journey is without challenges. But we’ve learned to face obstacles with a mindset of resilience—turning every challenge into an opportunity. We hold each other accountable, stay motivated, and push forward with a concentrated focus. When life gives us lemons, we make lemonade.

Sacred: For me, there’s nothing more fulfilling than being able to do what I love—something I’ve dreamed about since I was a teenager—and thriving in this space with my twin flame. It’s more than I ever imagined.
Nothing worth having comes easy. Being an entrepreneur, a mother, a wife, a teacher, a sister, and a friend—none of it has been easy. But I wouldn’t change a thing.

What do we want the world to know? That success isn’t just about the hustle—it’s about heart. There are people out here who are thriving, not just financially, but in purpose. We are living proof that you can build something meaningful while staying true to your values. We are kind, passionate, and intentional. We give and receive in love.

We are rebels with a cause. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This one’s too easy—we’re both born and raised Detroiters! If you’re visiting The D, we’re making sure you get the full experience.

Supreme:

Day 1 – Detroit Classics: Start with a visit to Belle Isle, a true gem with stunning skyline views. Then, head to Greektown for some food and energy before grabbing dinner at Flood’s—you have to try the mac and cheese. End the night with a stroll along the Detroit Riverwalk, which stretches from Belle Isle to Fort St.

Day 2 – Shopping & Entertainment: Check out Livernois Fashion Avenue for shopping, food, and entertainment. If it’s summer, make a stop at Eastern Market for local vendors, fresh produce, and the best street food. Depending on the time of year, you can’t miss The Auto Show, Detroit Fireworks, Dream Cruise, or the Detroit Grand Prix—all legendary events.

Day 3 – Good Eats & Vibes: Swing by Smokey G’s Smokehouse for top-tier BBQ (tell Greg we sent you!). Then, catch a concert at Chene Park or a comedy show at One Mike, Mike Epps’ new venue in the heart of downtown. Late-night? Hit up Miss Eva’s or Knock Twice for live entertainment, great drinks, and good food.

Sacred:

Day 4 – Art & Culture: You can’t visit Detroit without experiencing our rich arts scene. Explore the Detroit Institute of Arts, Charles H. Wright Museum, and Detroit Historical Museum. Don’t forget to check out the murals around the city—one of my favorite artists is Sydney James.

Day 5 – Sweet & Savory Stops: You must visit Sweet Potato Sensations—Espy and her family serve up the best sweet potato treats in the city. For a soulful meal, Baker’s Lounge is the spot. And if you’re craving a good drink, go to Fishbones and ask for Lamia—she’ll hook you up with the best cocktails!

Day 6 – Live Performances & Festivals: If you love live performances, check out MOSAIC for incredible youth talent or catch a Shakespeare in Detroit play. If you’re visiting during festival season, you can’t miss the Detroit Jazz Festival or the African American Festival—both are unforgettable experiences.

Day 7 – Soak It All In: Wrap up the trip with a final stop at your favorite spots from the week because, trust us—a week in Detroit isn’t enough!

Detroit is full of history, culture, food, and energy, and we love sharing what makes this city special. No matter when you visit, you’re going to leave with a real Detroit experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sacred: We also have a nonprofit organization, Young Creators Arts and Enrichment (YCAE), a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting the youth in our communities and serving as a bridge for parents with creative children. I started YCAE because of the love and support my aunt poured into me when I was young. She nurtured my creativity, believed in me, and even bought me my first big girl camera.

Beyond my aunt’s unwavering encouragement, I have to give so much credit to my husband, Supreme. I started Moon Reflections Photography right after our oldest child was born. There were times when we didn’t have the resources to invest in the business, but he always found a way. Even when the return on investment wasn’t immediate, he never wavered in his support. He has always provided the foundation I needed to pursue my dreams—by any means necessary.

And, of course, our incredible community. The people who show up for us, speak our names in rooms we’ve never entered, share our business with their circles, and continue to believe in what we do. Thank you to media platforms like Shoutout Magazine, and specifically to Gerrard Allen, for amplifying our work. To those who invest in us, refer clients, and trust us with their vision—we see you, and we appreciate you.

A special shoutout to our mentors and industry leaders who have poured into us:

Athia Wheeler – who taught me that there is always enough for everyone and never hesitated to share her stage.

Danielle, aka D Finney Photography – who helped me level up, always answered my calls, and showed love even when I was a stranger to her.

Tash of Ike & Tash – who never hesitates to pour into us. Ever.

Supreme: Operations School was instrumental in helping us run our business efficiently. It gave us the structure we needed—teaching us about different roles, positions, accounting, financing, and how to fully legitimize our business. It provided the connections and resources that helped us scale and function at a high level.

Andrew Valley played a pivotal role in my journey, helping me recognize and refine my skills, turning raw talent into a career and a path toward higher education.

The SOAR program at UofM was a game-changer. It helped me build consistency, organization, and a clear direction. My mentor and counselor, Ellen Judge-Gonzalez, in the program guided me when I was starting over, keeping me aligned with my purpose. To this day, she remains a significant part of our success.

And finally, I have to acknowledge the thought leaders who transformed my mindset and approach to business:

Les Brown, Abraham Hicks, Joe Dispenza, and David Bayer – They taught me that 95% of business success is mental. They instilled in me the power of focus, visualization, creativity, imagination, concentrated thought, and burning desire.

Success isn’t just about skill—it’s about belief, alignment, and the people who support you along the way. We are deeply grateful for every person who has been a part of our journey.
