We had the good fortune of connecting with Moyra Gorski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Moyra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think the most important factor behind the success of my business and brand is me. My authentic way of sharing. My loyalty to the brand I represent, as well as the clients who I help. My focus is on my clients and helping them achieve their wellness goals, or my teammates, who I am mentoring to have their own wellness business. I’ve learned that as I focus on other peoples goals, my goals are met as well.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a brand ambassador for the Shaklee Corporation which is one of the number one wellness companies in the direct selling space. I’ve been involved for over 26 years. I was frustrated as a young mom with kids that were sick and had allergies and low energy. I was challenged by a friend to look at some natural alternatives to building health and having a healthy home.

As I found by making some changes in our home, as well as what our family ate and did, we all felt better. I was excited to share what I was learning with others, and so that’s how my business began. My main focus was being a mom and raising my kids. So it wasn’t easy to build a business in amongst that but that’s also something I really love about it. I have the flexibility to work when I want to and focus on my family when I want to.
I’ve learned that many times a no from a potential client is just a not now, or I don’t have enough information to make a decision yet. I would rather have somebody tell me no then why didn’t you share this information with me?

I’ve learned along the way that it’s up to me. If I want to build my business, have an impact in the world, it’s up to me. Nobody’s coming to get me out of bed, nobody’s coming to push me. It’s up to me.
As I work to share the possibilities of better health and wellness with others, I tell other people that I’ve walked the walk. I’ve had incredible struggles, challenges with our children, and their mental health, finances, stress, my own cancer diagnosis of late,. I’m open and authentic with what I share, and tell others that I may not be an expert, but I’ve just gone through an awful lot and learned the tools and tricks along the way, and I am passionate about sharing that with others. I truly know that we can age well, and Thrive

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I went to school at Hope College and vacationed in the Saugatuck Douglas area for years. I truly have a heart for Southwest Michigan. Grand Rapids is a great city. I ran my last marathon throughout the city and have fun memories of that. Whenever we’re in Grand Rapids, we’d love to go to the zoo. We also like to check out new restaurants and cafés, a new walking trail.

I’ve heard so much about art Prize but have yet to attend. It is on my list.

Our son lives in Livonia and we love that area too.

Southwest Michigan and Harbor country is where we would love to retire. We’ve found some great small wineries in the area as we have traveled.

A trip to Michigan should always include a walk on the beach on Lake Michigan or a trip to the Peanut Store in Holland .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I certainly would want to shout out the Shaklee Corporation which is the company that I represent and been partnered with for the last 26 years. I’d also like to shout out my family, my four kids and my husband for all their support that they’ve given me over the years as I’ve built this brand and built my life of freedom and flexibility.
