We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Kemp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Pressure makes diamonds”

The situations you go through in life, either makes you the person you’ve dreamed of being or it destroys you in the process. Growth in life, comes from the trials you’ve been through and how you react. This is where true growth and progress meet. The people you start the journey with may be there or they may not but always keep your purpose on the front line.

Ask yourself, what legacy am I leaving, and is what I’m pursuing my actually calling? Are you solving a problem while serving others?

What should our readers know about your business?
Allow me to reintroduce myself my name is Nick, also know as “Nick The Entrepreneur”, from Detroit, Michigan.

I was born to a 14 year old mother named Maji Kemp. On a random half of day of school my mother said her and GOD were in spiritual alignment. To think, how could a 14 year old birth a baby BY HERSELF 😱. News spread like wildfire 🔥.

Growing up, I was always told that I was chosen. I’ve always had a great support system but I grew up against the odds. I had a young mom who was consistently judged by her decisions and in the eyes of society, destined to fail. My father, into the streets and overcame being incarcerated.

This is where my story begins because I’m proud of where I come from. I’ve always had a passion for helping people, technology, art and education. I graduated from Cass Technical High School in 2013 and received my bachelor’s in Media and Information with a minor in 3D animation, and Comics in 2017 from Michigan State University.

I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2017. What started my journey was being denied by hundreds of jobs related to art, and lacking the support I needed from professors in my field. I was crushed. With a son on the way, my senior year of college I knew I had to act fast and make a change. Working a number of oddball jobs I just simply did what had to do and faced my decisions head on.

My son was born in 2018, and sparked my fight or flight mentality. He gave me my “Why” other than my dedication to myself.

In 2020, I started my first business with a group of friends called BAMN Entertainment and it was by far the best experience I’ve had despite our decisions to part ways later on. I learned about the music business and what it meant to be a recording artist. We won numerous competitions and did features with artists like Jarren Benton, Kid Vishis, and Bizzy Bone. We also produced 2 videos that collectively got 65k+ views.

I learned that if you want to go fast, go by yourself but if you want longevity, go with a team 💯.

The skills such as marketing, branding, and content creation I was able to acquire in the first business, and was able to apply in the second business.

In 2021, I started another company called Quikbills LLC. As a company we are passionate about helping entrepreneurs and business owners grow. During the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic we realized how important resources such as capital were. We decided to focus on personal development, education, and getting people access to additional resources.

As you can see how you start is not how you finish but you just have to keep going.

If you want to grow and scale your company connections are EVERYTHING‼️

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Detroit is a city making it’s comeback!

First, I would start by honestly doing a helicopter tour of Detroit, preferably night time. There are tons of moments to see in Detroit especially with all the lights. The most popular view of Detroit is seeing the GM building from the sky view.

Second, we would visit the following spots not in a specific order:
1. BASH for sushi
2. Detroit One Coney
3. Moot’s Pizzeria + Bar
4. Checker Bar Detroit
5. Deluxx Fluxx

Lastly, you couldn’t leave Detroit without visiting:
1. Belle Isle
2. Motown
3. The Alley
4. The DIA
5. The Eastern Market

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be the man I am today without GOD, my family, and my business partner, Jonathan Whitlow.

GOD is the leader of my life and I’m a firm believer of all things being accomplished through Christ. The trials I’ve been through are a true testament to my pride, strength, and thought process.

Creating a secure space for my family to thrive means everything to me.

Jonathan Whitlow is my business partner, brother, and mentor who means a lot to me. Thank you for our relationship and your wisdom.
