We had the good fortune of connecting with Paul Aduba Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paul, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’ll start with a quote from Hockey Legend Wayne Gretzky stating the following: “ You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. Also, I have an Igbo proverb that says the following: “ Hapu ihe e dere na moto banye moto“. The meaning says forget the written words on the vehicle and drive the moto. In other words, taking action takes priority over the details of previous knowledge in situations.

I’m a risk taker. I have lost and won but I have realized that it’s better to try and fail and not try at all. In every failure, are new lessons and ingredients to success if we continue to persist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a student, military personnel, and phone technician. The journey hasn’t been easy but I never gave up. Human beings tend to compare and contrast ourselves with other. That’s natural. However, I try to focus on my goals and life. There is so much to talk about my lessons I have learned. I’m always grateful to God in a good or bad situation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a great question. I would be hospitable firstly. I would take them to experience the nightlife in my city or another big city. The drink would be a delicious one. The food would be delicious as well. I’ll explain more.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want give a shoutout to my family, Rev Paul and Mrs. Josephine and Josephine Aduba Jr(Twin). I want to give shoutout to Freddy Djogo and the Djogo Family. I want Thank God for life. I want shoutout the Asaleway army worldwide. I want shoutout myself.
