Meet Sabrina Klein | Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Klein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Crafting has always been a passion of mine throughout my life. Particularly during college candle making gave me an outlet to destress and be creative. Candles seemed like a fun challenge to try my hand at and from there my passion has blossomed into a business. I continued to expand my knowledge and improve my techniques until I was happy with the final product. In recent months I have found my love of candles giving me the opportunity to stay at home and support my growing family.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My candles are hand poured 100% soy wax. Soy is my preferred wax because it is biodegradable due to being vegetable derived, meaning all natural. Soy also burns around 50% slower than other waxes, and burns clean with no soot. I am most proud of my strive to give my customers exactly what they want. With over 400 scents, several containers, and customizing options on hand, I am ready to create anyone’s dream candle for any occasion. It took a lot of trial and error to get where I am today. With continuous research and revisions, I constantly work to improve and learn new techniques which has helped me get to where I am today. It was not an easy process, but with the help and guidance of my friends, family, and other small business owners, I had the support to overcome the hurdles of starting from scratch. I have learned to never give up even when things don’t go exactly as planned and to always try to improve to create the best product possible. If people took one thing away from my story, I would want them to know my brand and business is all about serving the customer and creating products to fill those needs and desires.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In our area there are a variety of activities to do, especially if you love exploring and the outdoors. If my friends and family came to visit we would spend our first day catching up and enjoying each others’ company, so I would plan a walk through the Lower Huron Metro Park followed by dinner at the Bait Shop Bar and Grill here in Belleville. The next couple day would be exploring the local museums and attractions including the Henry Ford Museum where we would get ice cream, the Detroit Zoo, and finding all 10 Belleville Bass Statues around town. After all the running around and fun in the middle of the week I would go to Angie’s Hamburger Stand in Canton for made-to-order hamburgers and milkshakes. After food, antique shopping in downtown Belleville is in order at Antiques on Main and Dave’s Treasures. Finally on the last day we would go to the Ford-Wyoming Drive-In Theater to catch a show. There is an abundance of things to do in our area of Southeast Michigan.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother-in-law, Sylvan Wright, owns his own photography business, “First Class Clarity”. He does amazing work and I even chose him to do my maternity photos. He makes you feel comfortable during the photo shoot and works with the client to achieve your dream picture outcome.
