We had the good fortune of connecting with Sadie Bass and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sadie, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
Ultimately, my goal is to make a comfortable living while doing music full-time, and to be known on a national level. I would love to be in a position someday financially to give to outreach programs, the church, my community, my family, helping animals, and other little girls who have a big dream just like I did. Signing a publishing and recording deal would be an amazing next step for me, so that is what I am currently working towards.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I’d like to think I am an authentic representation of the Midwest in country music. I’m originally from a small town called Bath, Michigan and moved to Nashville in December 2020 to advance my music career. After a couple years of writing and releasing new music, I competed on Season 22 of The Voice in November 2022.

After I got off the show I started touring in March 2023. I ended up going on two independent tours this year and played over 80 shows in 20 different states. Finally getting out on the road, connecting with fans, and playing in new places has been a game changer for my career.

I am now signed with WME, and have some AWESOME shows planned for 2024 including Gulf Coast Jam, Tortuga Music Festival, Rock The Country festival tour, and more! I can’t wait to get back on the road next year, and finally start releasing some of the new music I have been working on over the past few months!

Another important aspect of my career is the outdoors. I grew up hunting and fishing and love to incorporate that into my life and music when I can. I have been on a few outdoor TV shows including Discovery’s ‘Bassquatch Hunter’, Sportsman’s channel’s “MTN Top Outdoors”, and season 4 and 5 of Outdoor Channel’s “Hunting for Love or Likes”. It’s amazing when I can merge my outdoor lifestyle and country music together.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

A hidden gem is “Papa Turney’s” on Percy Priest Lake about 40 mins from Nashville. If you want a big juicy burger Pharmacy Burger or Jack Brown’s Burger Joint is where it’s at.

There are a ton of breakfast joints around town, but I like First Watch, I used to waitress there when I first moved to town. The juices, million-dollar bacon, and blueberry muffins are so good. Oh, and Daddy’s Dogs… order one and thank me later!

Nice daytime activities would be Centennial or Bicentennial Park. There are also a bunch of amazing waterfall hikes just 35 minutes out of town. Pins Mechanical, Puttshack, and Eastside Bowl are great places to go if you want to grab a drink and play some games.

Obviously, everyone should check out Broadway at least once. Go to Robert’s Western World and order the Recession Special ($6 and it is legendary). I always encourage people to pregame first and Uber in because the drinks ain’t cheap down there!

I spend most of my time in Midtown on Demonbreun street. The best local bars are Losers, Winners, Tin Roof, Live Oak, and Red Door. That’s where a lot of artists go to play their original music. SO COOL!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I have a lot of people to thank for where I’m at in my career. Honestly, I thank God every day for working on me and molding me through the ups and downs.

My mom deserves credit (and also a million apologies) because she is the one who encouraged me to sing ever since I was little. She always pushed me out of my comfort zone, and has always been my biggest fan. Thank you, mama!

I owe a lot of my success to my hometown, and the state of Michigan as a whole, for packing dive bars wall to wall when it was just me and my guitar. They always gave me the confidence I needed to keep going and have built me up from the beginning.

My cousin and manager Emma, aka “Cousinger” for helping me make the decision to quit college and softball to pursue music. Once I moved to Nashville, I was waitressing, while trying to balance writing, playing writer’s rounds, running my socials, and building a business. I was overwhelmed and couldn’t do it on my own. She moved to Nashville to help me take care of the business side of things and once she did it gave me a lot of hope for the future. Now we both do the music thing full-time, and I love being able to share all the highs and the lows with her!

Thank you to ANYONE who has ever streamed my music, came to my shows, and showed me support. Writing songs that people connect to is truly my favorite part of it all, and I wouldn’t have a career without my amazing fans.
