Meet Sarah Bieber | Sales Executive & Office Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Bieber and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“The only way to get rid of the fear of doing something is to go out and do it”. Fear can be paralyzing and hold us back from achieving goals and pursuing dreams. I’ve used this quote through many different aspects of life whether it be home or work. It can be as simple as calling that customer back right away or answering that email just so you can stop obsessing or worrying over it. Or as major as taking the plunge and opening the new business knowing you don’t know the ins and outs of every aspect.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There aren’t a lot of other companies that do specifically what we do in our industry so it’s sometimes hard to anticipate a shift in the market or plan ahead as far as an action plan. This is very much an industry of handling each problem with it’s own delicacy as best we can. I’m proud of the team we have. We can trust that if we send anyone to a job site they will uphold our company integrity and have respect for our customers and coworkers. As with any industry it’s a struggle to find good help – we’re currently very lucky in that aspect! It hasn’t always been this way and it took years to get to the professional level we are at.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Grand Rapids is most definitely the place to go with out of town family/friends. It’s filled with small businesses and one of kind gems. We’d start the day off with brunch at Social Misfits for a Spicy Mocha and a Grilled Cheese on Sour Dough with pickled Jalapenos dipped in waffle batter. Then to the Fulton Street Farmers Market to stock up on fresh produce, baked goods, and check out some local artisans. The evening would consist of bar hopping to all the local hot spots. Starting at Mojo’s Dualing Piano Bar, The BOB for a local brew and ending at the IDK speakeasy located within Amway.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother Dan is one of the most ambitious and hardworking people I know. He is the VP of our family company and has truly earned the title. This wasn’t simply handed down to him because he was next in line. This company wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful if it weren’t for his ability to absorb knowledge and apply it. His knowledge of rebuilding equipment and creating the prefect solution to any bakery, kitchen, commissary or orchard came from years of watching our Grandpa, Dad and long term mechanics that worked at Discount Bakery Equipment over the years. Dan does everything in his power to make sure his customers are happy and comfortable with the equipment solutions he offers from start to finish. This is something I watch and strive to replicate as much as possible.
