Meet Shadia Amen | Michigan-based Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shadia Amen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shadia, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factors behind the success of Shadia Amen Photography can be attributed to several key principles that have guided our journey.
Firstly, I have always maintained a growth and learning mindset.
In the ever-evolving field of photography, staying current with the latest trends and techniques has been instrumental in delivering exceptional results for our clients.
Building relationships is another cornerstone of our success. We prioritize nurturing strong connections with our clients, partners, and the local community. Trust and positive word-of-mouth referrals have been byproducts of these relationships, helping us grow our brand organically.
Remaining authentic has been a driving force in our work. We believe that authenticity sets us apart in a crowded market. By staying true to ourselves, we’re able to capture moments that resonate deeply with our clients and create images that are genuine and heartfelt.
We also embrace emotional engagement in our photography. Allowing our hearts to be involved in every capture enables us to craft images that are not only visually stunning but also rich in emotion. This adds a unique and personal touch to our work, providing our clients with memories that last a lifetime.
Lastly, consistent growth is a principle we hold dear. We are committed to ongoing improvement, both in our skills and in the experiences we provide to our clients.
This dedication ensures that we continue to exceed expectations and deliver memorable moments that our clients cherish.
In essence, these factors— continuous growth, relationship-building, authenticity, emotional engagement, and consistent growth—have played pivotal roles in shaping the success of Shadia Amen Photography.
They are the guiding principles that drive us toward our goal of becoming a well-known photographer not only in Michigan, but nationwide.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart as a photographer is my unwavering commitment to capturing not just images, but the emotions and experiences that lie within each moment.
My creative eye and candid shooting skills enable me to not only take pictures but to craft stories that resonate deeply with people. I pour my heart into every photo, and I believe that’s why my images have the power to speak to others.
What truly distinguishes me is the courage I had to step out of my comfort zone and pursue my photography career, even with the challenges of being a single mom with financial responsibilities.
I’m proud that I took a leave of absence from my previous job to follow my passion. This journey has led me to incredible opportunities, from shooting celebrities to being published by renowned brands like Dell and National Geographic.
My success is a testament to the support and belief of my strong circle, who pushed me beyond my comfort zone.
It’s a reminder that the future will always be uncertain, but discovering and sharing your passion with the world is a journey worth taking.
So, what sets me apart is not just my photography skills but the resilience and determination that allowed me to overcome obstacles and follow my calling.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start the trip by exploring the heart of the city. Visit Campus Martius Park for a relaxing morning stroll.
Head to the Detroit Institute of Arts to appreciate art and culture.
Have dinner at a local downtown restaurant like ima Izakaya (asian fusion), yum village (afro-caribbean & Halal), or The Kitchen by cooking with Que (phenomenal vegan fare).
Visit Eastern Market on a Saturday morning, a vibrant and historic market. Capture some photos of the colorful market scenes.
We would Explore the Dequindre Cut Greenway, a great place for nature photography. And there’s often something going on down there.
Spend the morning at Belle Isle Park, known for its stunning gardens, aquarium, and conservatory.
Continue our nature walk and photography at Belle Isle’s beaches and wooded areas.
Spend at least one evening at a comedy show at either Mark Ridley’s in Royal Oak or Go comedy Improv in ferndale.
We would definitely spend some time eating in Dearborn, my hometown, because we do have the best Middle Eastern food around! 😉
And lastly we would be hanging out with the entire family at my mom’s for dinner one night because that’s what we do!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, I’d love to shoutout my Partners at Robert Courtney and Associates!
