Meet Shawn Jones | Winemaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shawn, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired most by my own creativity and self-confidence. This plays a key role in my success in business because it not only allows me to be myself while sending a message to my customers but representation of my brands. Being creative while pursuing something you love allows everything to be genuine. When things are genuine within yourself because you are being you this will inspire you to go above and beyond the determination to achieve success. This keeps me motivated, new ideas circulating constantly, and making a greater business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Speed Beverage Company is one of the Michigan distributors of wine, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. We offer a different variety of products to customers, both domestic and international. Are products includes hard liquor, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Speed Beverage Distribution Company is the importer and distributor for Detroit and our portfolio includes brands from all over the world. We are constantly expanding our range of excellent spirits, wines and beverage drinks across the business. Getting here was not an easy task in which I learned a lot of winemaking experience selling Dai One Cellars wine products before becoming an alcohol distributor. I learned a lot about the production and logistics delivery process that goes into getting products to the retail shelfs for consumers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends come visit that live out of state in other cities and they ask me about how business is going, and they want to see things. I would give them an unusual fun experience. this would involve visiting my warehouse seeing the products I carry and visiting retail locations where I have built connections with the owners for product placement. This is giving my close friends the opportunity to expand their network connections, meet new people, as well as potential associates if they share the same link minded goal of being a successful entrepreneur.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my network connections of team players, business partners, and customers. They all play major roles in the production manufacturing to retail shelfs delivery process of my wine & spirits products. Having the right people around you for their own given talents helps with how your business can become very successful overtime. I am truly thankful to have great connections of people around me from all walks of life.
