Meet Staria Harvey | The Nail Artist & Owner of Clear Vision Artistry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Staria Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Staria, what makes you happy? Why?
My “Why” to happiness is helping others and being an inspiration in their lives. I have always had a giving and loving spirit since I was a young girl. It does my heart great pleasure to know I made someone’s day, even if it’s just putting a smile on their face. My company Clear Vision Artistry,LLC is a multi-dimensional company that is an umbrella for many art forms. Everything I achieve and create within my company it is geared towards the happiness, and love for all my patrons. For instance my major brand is Star The Nail Artist. I am a licensed cosmetologist that specializes in nail enhancements and nail art. In this line of work I am able to bless and create works of art on my clients nails which in turns beautify their hands and ultimately gives them confidence and makes them happy. To know I make someone’s day fills my heart with joy and confirms within that I am doing something right.

Please tell us more about your art. What sets you apart from others? what are you most excited about?. How did you get to where you are today professionally and was it easy? If not how did you overcome those challenges? What are the lessons you learned along the way? What do you want the world to know about you and your brand?
My Art is unique. I am a Nail Artist who specializes in free hand nail art as well as abstract art. My love for my craft, professionalism and work ethic sets me apart from others. There are nail techs then you have someone like me who is a nail artist with over 20+ years of experience . I am most proud of my accomplishments over the years as well as my maturity and wisdom in which I have attained. I allowed fear to drive my decision making; working jobs that wasn’t for me and not taping into my full potential doing something I love. However working those jobs got me where I am today professionally. I learned from managers, co-workers, as well as customers on how to treat people and deal with all aspects of society. I learned what it truly means to be a professional and that excellent customer service is key. It hasn’t been easy but I learned early on in my life to not give up, stay in prayer, have faith knowing that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Life has taught me many lessons good and bad. I have been shown that not everyone has your best interest at heart and things may not always go your way, But acknowledging the good lessons and keeping my faith allows me to keep going and jumping over any hurdle that comes my way. I want the world to know that I am a walking testimony on how it’s never too late to tap into that creative mind and trust the process. I stepped out on faith June 2023 and walked away from my job to pursue my business full time and I don’t regret my decision at all. Keep the faith and know God has your back is what my brand stands on.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Detroit in the summer is amazing and a vibe. Some things I would do with my best friend is go to concerts at the Aretha, visit Campus Martius, and view the downtown area. We would also visit the Marina and take a few boat rides enjoying the river breeze as well as site seeing. Of course we have to eat and we love a good drink so it’s a must we hit a few downtown bars (even some neighborhood bars). Day parties are our favorite so I would find us a few to step into during those warm days in Detroit. Another spot that I would visit is a nice cigar lounge as well as a few wine tasting spots. I love a good time and a good vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to God first and foremost for blessing me with my talents and creative mind. Secondly I would like to give thanks to my biggest supporters, my parents and my brothers. The love and genuine support they have given me over the years is unmatched. We have been through some tough times and in the midst of it all we managed to stay together as a family unit and be there for each other. They have given me so much advice and encouragement and for that I am forever grateful. Shoutout to my 11th grade manicuring instructor (Detroit) and cosmetology instructor (Greensboro) for believing in me and pushing me to be the best in everything that I do. Lastly I want to say thank you to family and friends who have been walking this journey with me and encouraging me along the way.
