Meet Stephanie Onwuegbuna | Resume Writer & Freelance Web Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Onwuegbuna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well, the decision to start my own business was the result of a combination of factors and a well-thought-out process. First and foremost, I’ve always had a deep passion for writing, as well as interviewing oddly enough, and a strong desire to create something of my own. The idea of being in control of my destiny and having the freedom to pursue my vision was incredibly appealing.
I believed that I had the right combination of skills, experience, and knowledge in resume writing and career services to make this business venture a success. I was confident in my ability to bring something valuable to the market, as I had already been providing free services to my personal networks.
Another factor that played into my decision was a desire for independence. I wanted to be able to make decisions, set my own schedule, and chart my own course. Entrepreneurship provided the platform for this independence and allowed me to be my own boss.
Ultimately, the thought process behind starting my own business was a combination of passion, market opportunity, self-assessment, and a willingness to take calculated risks. It’s been a challenging journey, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited about the path ahead.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve reached where I am today in my business through a combination of hard work, determination, and a willingness to learn and adapt. It certainly wasn’t easy, and I faced numerous challenges along the way. These challenges included financial hurdles, competition, and moments of self-doubt.
To overcome these challenges, I adopted a few key strategies. First, I invested time in continuous learning and skill development. I always sought opportunities to improve my knowledge and stay updated with industry trends. Second, I built a strong support network by seeking guidance from mentors and networking with like-minded individuals who shared similar aspirations. Third, I learned to embrace failure as a part of the journey, using setbacks as opportunities for growth and improvement.
The lessons I’ve learned are invaluable. One of the most important is the significance of perseverance. Success rarely happens overnight, and it’s essential to keep moving forward, even when things get tough. Another lesson is the power of adaptability. The business landscape is constantly evolving, and being flexible and open to change is crucial for long-term success. Additionally, I’ve realized the importance of authenticity and integrity in business. Building trust with customers and partners is a foundation for lasting relationships.
In terms of what I want the world to know about me or my brand, I want people to recognize the passion and dedication I bring to my work. I’m driven by a desire to create meaningful products/services and make a positive impact in the world. I want my brand to stand for quality, innovation, and a commitment to ethical business practices. Ultimately, my story is one of resilience, growth, and the belief that with the right mindset and hard work, anyone can achieve their goals and make a difference in their chosen field.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week-long visit to Detroit, I would recommend exploring the downtown area, enjoying local cuisine, visiting cultural landmarks, experiencing outdoor activities, delving into the city’s history, and taking in some sports and entertainment. Make sure to savor Detroit’s famous Coney Dogs, experience Motown’s musical heritage, and explore the city’s vibrant art scene. Some of my favorite restaurants in Detroit include: Kuzzo’s, Yum Village, Central Kitchen, and River Bistro.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my parents. They have been my unwavering source of support and inspiration throughout my life. Their guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love have played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. My parents taught me the values of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of pursuing my dreams. Without their constant belief in me and the sacrifices they made, I wouldn’t have achieved the success I enjoy. I am forever grateful to them for being my rock and for instilling in me the principles that have led to my accomplishments.
