Hi Taylor, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Navigating the a career based in creativity has always felt like a natural expedition for me. From choosing mediums to work with my hands or visual stories through the lens of a camera, the allure of articulating emotions and narratives in tangible forms has been one of my favorite ways to express not only myself but those who choose to work with me.

Being a mother to Athena, and sharing journey with my partner, Dan, have only deepened the well of experiences to draw from. Each day presents a new scene, a fresh palette of emotions, and an evolving storyline. It’s a beautiful process that grows and changes with me.

The beauty of an artistic career is that it’s not just a profession but a way of perceiving the world. It’s about capturing the fleeting, yet profound moments, and weaving them into something that speaks to the human experience.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Venturing into the realm of media production and management through Taylor’d Media was both a natural progression and a leap of faith. The journey, laced with its fair share of ups and downs, has been an enriching learning experience.

What sets me apart is perhaps my holistic approach to storytelling. With a background in photography, videography, and UGC content production, I weave a narrative that resonates on a human level. Each project is more than just a deliverable; it’s a voyage into the essence of the brand or the story we’re articulating. This multidisciplinary approach helps in creating content that’s not only visually engaging but also emotionally resonant.

The road here was not always smooth. There were challenges, from navigating the competitive landscape to finding a unique voice. The initial phase was a blend of long nights, tight deadlines, and the relentless pursuit of perfection. However, the key was resilience and a robust support system. Dan’s unwavering belief, coupled with the joy Athena brings, acted as a buffer against the storms.

One significant lesson learned is that adaptability is crucial. The media landscape is ever-evolving, and staying updated with the latest trends, technologies, and consumer preferences is essential. Also, I’ve learned that it’s vital to build and nurture a team that shares your vision and passion.

I’m thrilled about the projects we have lined up. They are a blend of creativity, innovation, and an opportunity to push the boundaries further. Each new project is a chance to explore, learn, and refine our craft.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Hawai’i, Detroit has been such a fun and new experience. I love that I get to experience Detroit as a fresh onlooker free of pre-conceived narratives from before Detroit was regenerated. These are some of my favorite things to do in the city.

– Kickstart the day with a hearty breakfast at Avalon Bakery, known for their organic, freshly baked goods.
– Then a visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts is a must to soak in some culture and marvel at the vast collection of artworks.
– For lunch, make our way over to Dime Shop, or another one of the iconic Detroit eateries.
– Take a relaxing stroll along the Detroit Riverwalk, enjoying the serene views of the river and the city skyline.
– Wrap up the day with dinner at Selden Standard, indulging in some farm-to-table goodness that reflects the local flavors.

This blend of artistic, historical, and culinary experiences would offer a delightful slice of what Detroit has to offer!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Dan has been a cornerstone of encouragement and belief. His inventive spirit and optimism have not only helped me navigate the realm of entrepreneurship but have helped propel me to achieve more. Our shared dreams and complementary aspirations have created a harmonious rhythm that supports both our personal and professional lives.

Our daughter, Athena, is pure and unfiltered joy and wonder. Spending time with her allows me to slow down, be present, and notice the surrounding beauty that might otherwise go unnoticed. She herself has such a beautiful imagination and enjoys expressing herself through various forms of art. It is always a joy to work on a project that we can both enjoy simultaneously.

The journey through of creativity is often solitary, but the love and support from my closest family and friends enriching every endeavor. Each success, each milestone reached is a reflection of the collective spirit, the shared dreams, and the intertwined aspirations.
