Hi Tyra, how does your business help the community?
A Girl Like Me Inc is dedicated to empowering and supporting girls and young women in their personal growth and development. Our organization strives to make a positive impact by providing mentoring programs, resources, and support to girls who may face unique challenges and barriers.

Through our mentoring program, We aim to inspire confidence, self-esteem, and resilience in young girls, helping them realize their full potential and pursue their dreams.

Additionally, A Girl Like Me Inc organizes various community outreach initiatives to address the specific needs of girls and young women. We provide essential items, such as baby items and feminine products, to moms in need, supporting them during challenging times. By doing so, we alleviate their financial burden and ensure their basic needs are met.

Our organization also focuses on education and advocacy, aiming to raise awareness about issues affecting girls and young women. We strive to promote gender equality, inclusivity, and empowerment through workshops, seminars, and community events.

By providing mentorship, support, and resources, A Girl Like Me Inc aims to foster a generation of confident, empowered, and resilient young women who can positively contribute to their communities and make a difference in the world.

What sets me apart from others in my field is my unwavering passion for making a positive impact in the lives of girls and young women. I am driven by a genuine desire to empower and support them in their personal growth and development. This guiding purpose has afforded me the opportunity to connect with individuals on a deeper level, understanding their unique challenges and providing tailored support.

I am most proud and excited about the establishment and growth of A Girl Like Me Inc. Seeing the organization evolve from a mere concept to a thriving platform that impacts the lives of young girls is incredibly fulfilling. Witnessing the positive transformations of the girls we mentor and the families we assist brings me immeasurable joy.

My professional journey has been anything but easy. Along the way, I encountered various challenges, including limited resources, balancing work and personal life, and navigating the complexities of running a nonprofit organization. However, I firmly believe that challenges are opportunities for growth and perseverance.

To overcome these challenges, I sought guidance from experienced mentors and sought out support from my network. I utilized my resourcefulness and found creative solutions to maximize the impact of our programs within the constraints we faced. It was a continuous learning process, and I embraced the lessons and experiences as opportunities for growth and improvement.

One of the most significant lessons I have learned is the power of collaboration and community engagement. By leveraging the strengths and resources of like-minded individuals and organizations, we can create a more significant and sustainable impact. I have also learned the importance of adaptability and resilience in the face of unforeseen circumstances, as demonstrated by the challenges posed by the pandemic.

What I want the world to know about me and A Girl Like Me Inc is that our mission extends far beyond mentoring and support. We are dedicated to cultivating a community that empowers and uplifts girls and young women. We believe in the value and potential of every individual, regardless of their circumstances. Through mentorship, resources, and advocacy, we aim to break down barriers and create equitable opportunities for all.

Gratitude is also extended to my mentor, Ms. Chenita Gary of Own Own Wall Street. She has been an uplifting force in my life, providing me with invaluable tools and knowledge on running a successful nonprofit. Her guidance has been instrumental in the growth and development of A Girl Like Me Inc.
