We had the good fortune of connecting with Wolf Dé Roses and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wolf, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Unwillingness to allow circumstance to make quit. I always double down and destroy any limitation I maybe facing. I realized we define things in our life, so you’re either going to feed your fears or feed your triumphs in life. You only fail once you give up. So the answer to this question is I learned to be relentless.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a fusion of expressionism, urban influences, and abstract elements, aiming to evoke deep emotions and contemplation. What sets me apart is the authenticity of my narratives, rooted in my African American heritage and the vibrant culture of Detroit. I’m proud of the unique voice I bring to the art scene.

The journey to where I am today was not easy, marked by challenges that demanded resilience and determination. Overcoming obstacles involved staying true to my vision, relentless dedication, and leveraging support networks. Lessons learned include the power of perseverance and the impact of genuine storytelling.

I want the world to know that my art is a reflection of the human experience, a bridge between cultures and emotions. My brand is built on authenticity, pushing boundaries, and using creativity to advocate for social change. I hope my story inspires others to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their passions fearlessly.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Midtown Detroit is the most fun place you can go, all of the different museums and galleries and historical representation there, I am a senior at WSU so I would take them there first, than the Detroit Institution of Art is around the corner, then there’s this nice French Restaurant across the street, and across from there is the Detroit Historical Museum, which is amazing, also you have the African American history museum right down the street it’s amazing.
