Meet Alondra Gonzalez | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alondra Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alondra, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
First, I would like to say, success can be defined in many ways. Success varies from person to person. I wouldn’t exactly say I’ve succeeded because there is still a lot more I want to do- there’s a lot more goals to achieve. Something that has helped me get to this point though, is being persistent and dedicated to the goals I have set for myself. One, I like proving people wrong. And two, I like a challenge. So, when I hear things like “it’s a one in 1 million chance” or “it’s difficult”- I don’t just push these comments aside instead, I take it as fuel, motivation to step up to the challenge and prove them wrong. And I will say it has gotten me far. Yes, you can call it success because I have been successful, but I prefer calling it progress. There’s a lot I still need to achieve.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am Alondra Gonzalez, you might know me on social media as alonlon. I am a content creator for several platforms including Instagram, Tik Tok, Pinterest, YouTube, and Facebook. Surprisingly, I wasn’t on any of these platforms until about eighth grade, and some I recently joined a couple years ago. My content varies based on accounts and platforms- because I can’t settle for one- but overall my content is authentic, artistic, and relatable. I have two Instagram accounts. One, my main, encompasses fashion, fitness, and lifestyle. My side account on Instagram is compromised of vegan/vegetarian-friendly recipes I make myself. Tik Tok also has two accounts. One, my main, encompasses comedy and relatability. My side account on Tik Tok is solely for acting and short films. Pinterest, limited to one account, unifies fashion, lifestyle, and my recipes, along with photography. Lastly, I take my Tik Toks from my main account and post those on Facebook and YouTube Shorts.
I did not know I wanted to take social media seriously until I began spending more time on it and realized there was a bigger purpose to it all. The life of influencers and ad content reshaped my thinking and understanding of social media as not just entertainment, but a tool, a gateway, and/or form of expression. During the same time I realized this, I was also going through a difficult acne journey and decided to turn to social media to reach others who, perhaps, were going through a similar experience. By posting the products I used and connecting with my followers- I built a credible, authentic, and relatable platform.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m from Chicago, so there’s a lot of fun things to do and good restaurants. I would definitely start with a nice little brunch breakfast spot. There are tons of places I love, so it depends on the mood. I would ask my visitors what they’re in the mood for- french toast, omelettes, pancakes- because if it’s pancakes the best pancakes are at cracker barrel! If you haven’t already you need to try them right now! After that I would suggest we take a walk along Michigan Avenue, also called Magnificent Mile, this is because it’s like a mile long street full of shops and restaurants. So, we would do some shopping there. If we are feeling a little snack/light lunch the Starbucks Reserve is right along that street as well, so I would suggest we go there. It’s beautiful, I believe 4 floors with a rooftop, so it’s a must visit here in Chicago for sure. As the sun begins to lower, I would say we make our way to Navy Pier. It’s a nice boardwalk, there’s a ferris wheel, great view of Lake Michigan, and great little restaurants too. I think hanging out there for a while maybe grabbing a drink at one of the restaurants and just talking with them would be nice. Our day would end with a famous Chicago Deep Dish pizza from Giordanos. You have to try deep dish pizza while you’re here!
I’m not huge on night life, so I would finish up the day just walking around the city to be honest. I think this is an example of a perfect, simple day in Chicago.
