We had the good fortune of connecting with Lily Noordyk Cassidy Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lily Noordyk, what makes you happy? Why?
Creativity is a fundamental driver of our happiness. Amidst the daily juggling of various roles, it’s effortless to overlook the sheer joy derived from the act of creating to create. It is so liberating to be be flexible and step away from structure, while necessary, may impede the free flow of creative inspiration. We prioritize cultivating creativity not only in our professional endeavors but also in the fabric of our lives, recognizing it as a genuine expression of our core selves.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are two women on a mission beyond the 9-5 grind, we’ve delved into the short-term rental world, specializing in bespoke guest experiences, architecture, and interiors for investors. We are incredibly excited for the future of this company, this year has been phenomenal—great clients, incredible vendors, and valuable lessons and we know there is so much yet to come. The entrepreneurial journey isn’t easy, but getting in the room with people who are smarter than you, who know resourceful people, who are succeeding; connection with people is key. The biggest takeaway we could want people to know about our story is that a simple yes can be absolutely life changing. Taking action is pivotal. While discussions, planning, and sharing ideas about a goal are crucial, it’s the act of following through that truly opens doors of opportunity. Ultimately, aren’t we all seeking to make an impact? By committing to a ‘yes,’ you have the power to make that impact.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We may be bias but, Michigan is so under-rated at least the west side is!! If it were a summers day grabbing brunch at Deboer’s Bakery in Holland and then doing some mid morning shopping downtown, then hitting up the beach or walking trails near holland state park or the ever scenic oval beach would be perfect and then end out the day hitting up the phenomenal Poquito for the best tapas and drinks! Traverse City is an absolute must – taking a long weekend to hit up some of the gorgeous wineries like Chateau Chantel or 2 Lads on the old mission peninsula or hitting up sleeping bear dunes or empire bluff trail in Glen Arbor grabbing an incredible pizza from Bear Paw for dinner and sit at the beach and watch the sunset around the corner. Back down town traverse city, you could hit up Horizon Books on front street or a number of other fun shops to pop in an look around! On your way out of town be sure to hit up either the Omelette shop for an early breakfast or the newly renovated Red Spire Brunch House if you’re a late riser. There are endless activities here. Heading back south, you could spend some time in Grand Rapids to catch a concert at 2o Monroe Live or the VanAndle, have dinner at one of the various incredible restaurants down town including Luna, Roam, Rockwell Republic, Bar Divani, Hopcat or the newly open Scholar. If you head to east town there is lots of cutie boutique shops and you could most definitely grab food and margs at the famous Donkey Taqueria! There are tons of hidden gem locations all over Michigan to name a few unmentioned to take a day or two to explore would be Saugatuck, Douglas, Rockford, Newaygo, Ludington, Frankfort, Suttons Bay to name a few! Too many good places to share!
