Doing Well & Doing Good

One of the most rewarding things about getting to know so many entrepreneurs is seeing first-hand how many of them are focused on so much more than just financial results. So many of the folks we connect with are focused on having a positive social impact on their community or the world at large. Check out some of these amazing folks below.
As a lifelong creative, I have expressed my creativity in many different forms. From paintings and sculptures to jewelry and candles, I have created hundreds, if not thousands of items. I work both in the fine arts, creating pieces specifically to exhibit, as well as in fine craft, where I create items specifically to sell through my business, Scaredy Cat Primitives. My fine art often uses found objects and explores our consumable, disposable society. A few years ago, I felt a disconnect with my fine art and fine craft. To be an artist is stewarding what you are born with rather than choosing what you will do as a career. There are aspects of being an artist that direct me to be a business man, but also a benefactor to society, but both of these stem from being an artist at heart. I have had a number of occupations in life that I have enjoyed and used skills in, but creating art is the central activity to who I am as a person and brings the most contentment. Ironically, even if I am not producing art I am still an artist as a person. Read more>>
I consider what my business does for the community is a “waterfall effect.” By providing relief via massage, not only does the client benefit, those they encounter on a daily basis and in their travels will also be able to get a taste of their residual rejuvenation.
