We had the good fortune of connecting with Elise Post and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elise, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
That balloons could cost so much! I had no idea either until I started working with them. There is much more than just balloons that goes into these set ups; tons of unseen materials, hours of planning and prep, trailers for transporting set ups, and on site labor. Even with all of these costs we try work with each of our client’s budgets. We offer a range of items as well as accept payment plans! We are luxurious yet budget friendly!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Yours Truly started out as my side hustle while I worked my full time career. Once I had my son in 2021 I decided to quit my career and pursue my dream of running my own business. It has not been easy by any means but the best decision of my life. Since quitting my career I have been able to put all my effort into being the best mom I can be and into building Yours Truly. We are constantly adding new services including; a beautiful greenery wall, tent slumber parties and intimate picnics. We are always looking to perfect our craft as well as expand our wings. One day we hope to even open an event venue!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This week long trip would look a little different now than it would have a few years ago.

1. Because I have a son now
2. Because I am sober
3. Because I run a small business

So instead of spending our time bar hopping and going to the coolest new places, we would be going to see Christmas lights at Hines Park, building gingerbread houses while drinking hot cocoa, taking AJ to Dinoland or YoYo’s, and tagging along to my event set ups. This may not sound fun to everyone else but any of my best friends would love to do this. We would definitely sneak away for some girl time, get our nails done, dress up and go out to a fancy dinner and maybe even go see a show at Ziggy’s. No matter what we did we would just be happy to spend time together as it limited these days.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course I would like to thank my parents, my family and friends for always supporting me. But I would like to take this time to especially thank my best friend, Sam and boyfriend, Dre.

Sam has been my best friend since the day I met her in science class at EMU. Now she is not only my best friend but my business associate. She is the whole reason I added balloon arches to my business. Sam, my other best friend and sister in law spent hours blowing up balloons (without a pump) for my baby shower. It turned out beautiful (see last picture), which gave me the idea to add it to my business. I figured if we teamed up we could really make something out of it! Three years later we have completed countless arches and improved immensely, as well as added other balloon decor.

Next I would like to thank the love of my life, Dre. He gave me the push I needed to really get my business up and running. I had always wanted to run my own event planning business but dragged my feet a little. Once Dre came into my life he recognized my dream and made it his as well. Every day we work together to make our dreams come true. One day we will make it!
