We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauryn Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauryn, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
My peace of mind makes me happy. Being a black woman born into poverty and survival, that peace did not come easy. Liberation, freedom and peace feel synonymous in my world these days. Such a blessing.

What should our readers know about your business?
My doula business is Lo.Holistics (Birthwork, Yoga, Rootwork). My business incorporates all of the many hats that I wear and various sectors that I have been trained/certified in, while also sharing holistic lifestyle education. Interwined within Lo.holistics is also my traditional practice of Hoodoo , bringing more spiritual and ancestral practice into my birthwork. I am most proud of how my business has taken off in the course of 4 years. Since starting in 2020, I have learned that more success brings more obstacles, but nothing is impossible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since moving to Washington State, I have also been explorative and still learning what is what. For a week long visit here in Washington with my bestfriend would vary depending on the weather. Let’s say for Summer, we could visit the various beaches between Seattle and Tacoma. Hit some black owned food places like Island soul, Taste of Carribean, Jerk Shack. Try some of the speakeasys in downtown Seattle. Go to the waterfront in Tacoma. Hit the mall. Go hiking. Maybe kayak. Visit Pike Place Market.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am dedicating my shoutout to my wife who continues to be my backbone through all my business endeavors. My family who continues to breathe life into me and all that I am.
