We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Reyna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When starting my own business, I don’t wanted to make a true difference in people’s life by educating them about skin care and providing life changing results, especially with people who struggle with acne. I had worked at a spa for years providing relaxing facial treatments but I knew there was more to skincare and opening my own business allowed me to provide the treatments I wanted.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of the skin transformations I have provided for many people who have struggled with acne and watching their confidence boost after every appointment. I dedicate my time outside of the treatment room staying up to date with the best products and treatments to make sure my clients receive the best results when they come in for a treatment.

Starting my business was not easy at all. There were a lot of times where it felt easier to quit and stick with my 9-5 job because I had no help financially. As a small business owner, you are in charge of not only taking care of clients but also managing social media, inventory, book keeping and everything else in between.
I often say it is a lot easier to work a 9-5 than working your own because you are able to clock in and clock out versus owning a business where you tend to work longer days. Regardless of its challenges I wouldn’t trade my business and journey of getting to where I’ve gotten, for anything. I love my clients and the treatments I provide and genuinely enjoy what I do for a living.

I am extremely passionate about helping others clear their acne because I struggled with severe acne before becoming an esthetician and know exactly what they feel. I love to provide the answers and treatments that many people desperately want and need for their skin.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting the area here are the top things I would take them to visit: Frederick Meijer Gardens is always a beautiful place to visit, Bistro Bella Vita has great lunch, dinner and martinis, Downtown Market for a dessert, and end the day at Mojos Piano Bar for some fun live music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My boyfriend Robert, who supported me every step of the way through completing my schooling and starting my business even on the days that I felt I couldn’t do it anymore.

My parents for always supporting me and believing that I could do anything I put my mind to, and continue to support me and show that they are proud of my accomplishments.
