We had the good fortune of connecting with Libby Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Libby, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When I first launched my business in 2022, it was a HUGE success! I had booming sales and could barely keep up with orders. fast forward to 2024, I have done less than a quarter of the sales I did in 2022 and am reaching and grasping for sales nowadays. why don’t I just give up? because I LOVE painting nails. I LOVE the one customer per week who feels more empowered and more beautiful just by putting on a set of nails I created. If you are consistent and you enjoy what you are doing, then KEEP GOING! the sales will come. the customers will come, just be consistent and keep doing what you do best, even in the slow seasons.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
enjnails was created with the sole purpose of making everyone feel put together, even when we aren’t. I wanted to create a very affordable way to get your nails looking amazing, not completely breaking your budget, but still having nails last through daily craziness in whatever it is you do. I am SO excited about all the success I am having with people who have been die hard “press ons don’t work for me” to now being some of my regular customers who order from me every few weeks!

Building a business is HARD! when I first started I took orders through DM’s on Instagram and it was chaotic to say the least, top 3 things that helped me get my feet on the ground are: 1. get a website! buy a domain, find a good website hosting platform and just do it! the investment is worth it! 2. don’t undervalue yourself just to get sales. when I first started my sets were dirt cheap and I could barely make enough to replenish my supplies. your work is worth it! charge your worth! 3. don’t get discouraged from a bad week/month of sales. I have had 100+ order months, and I’ve had whole months of no sales. be consistent, the sales will even out eventually!

I want every person to feel the confidence and self esteem boost whenever they put on a set of nails the way that I feel it. not being able to afford going to a salon shouldn’t stop you from feeling your best. and sometimes even when you cant get dressed up and put on makeup, having a set of nails on just makes you feel so put together.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
definitely would have to head over to the root beer barrel for some AMAZING hotdogs and root beer. next of course going to the beach in holland, as well as going for a walk downtown holland and to visit the farmers market!
also would really love to visit the air zoo in Kalamazoo, because the air simulator there is SO FUN!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My hubby! Evaristo has been my rock solid support through my business journey. He pushes me and cheers me on from the background in everything I do. He also has a GREAT eye for marketing and advertising, (He’s designed my whole website and most of my marketing supplies). He helps out with our kiddos while I am doing events or need to really focus on painting nails. #1 best hubby around!
