Artists and creatives face innumerable challenges given that their career path often doesn’t come with a playbook, a steady paycheck or any form of safety net. It’s definitely not easy and so we asked a few of the artists and creatives we admire to talk to us about why they chose to pursue an artistic or creative career.

I believe that having a creative outlet for yourself is an important concept for mental health awareness. Normal day-to-day life can be really tough on some people, so having some sort of outlet creates a safe space for you to think and reflect. I chose a creative career because not only is it something I truly enjoy, but I find peace in learning more about myself during the creative process; I am free to execute any ideas that may come to mind. I have always felt a strong pull to be in a creative line of work. As a child, I loved playing with dolls like many children do, but I enjoyed setting up the houses and putting together outfits even more!
