Meet Olga Kovtun | Volunteer of Creative Society, Host of “Business Networking For Good” Free Events & Marketing Pro

We had the good fortune of connecting with Olga Kovtun and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olga, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I was not always this way. I actually had to learn to like people, and now I can confidently say that I love people, humanity, collaboration, community—everything we create as a common good. Putting people first is a very hard priority in a world where money seems to rule all important personal or business decisions. However, I believe it is always essential to find that human spark in every interaction or transaction we undertake.
My greatest learning experiences came from an inner drive to keep working on myself, to keep searching, and to keep striving to become a better person. When I first started volunteering for the international project Creative Society, I must admit I was skeptical. I rolled my eyes at the idea of humanity working together to overcome challenges and create a world that benefits everyone. But with every experience, interaction, and project with fellow volunteers from 180 countries, I learned to see each person, first and foremost, as human.
I experienced and felt a profound sense of unity that is hard to describe—a collective goal that was all-encompassing. Through this, I gained a vision for humanity’s untapped potential. We were always deeply concerned about the climate crisis and its impact on our daily lives. As climatic events continued to rise in frequency and severity, it became evident to me that they would not stop on their own. Natural disasters will engulf us if we fail to unite under one goal: to protect our planet and every human life.
I realized that when the goal is bigger than ourselves, we learn to see the bigger picture, dream more boldly, and act in ways that benefit society as a whole. The road ahead may be long, but nothing is impossible when human life is valued above all else.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Over the years, I’ve taken on so much more: graphic and web design, content creation, social media and blog management, video production, photography, lead generation, print collateral, brand design, event coordination, tradeshow attendance, community networking, and building key business relationships. This builds on my rich 18-year background in marketing—both digital and traditional—as well as graphic, web, and brand design.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d take them on a delicious and memorable journey through some of the area’s best spots. We’d start at Saint 1881 Coffee & Cocktail Bar, located at 212 Walnut Blvd., Rochester, MI. This stunning venue, set in a beautifully restored 1881 church, offers a unique blend of old-world charm and chic modern vibes. Whether you’re sipping a specialty coffee in the morning or enjoying a handcrafted cocktail in the evening, Saint 1881 creates an unforgettable experience in the heart of downtown Rochester.
For dinner, we’d head to Wow Sushi at 3630 Rochester Rd., Troy, MI. This hidden gem serves some of the freshest and most creative sushi rolls and sashimi in the area, perfect for any sushi lover. Their presentation is as impressive as the flavors, making every bite a delight.
Finally, we’d visit Saab Sis Thai at 515 S. Washington Ave., Royal Oak, MI, a cozy family-run restaurant inspired by Bangkok’s rich culinary heritage. Their famous Pad Thai and Chicken Satay are packed with bold and authentic flavors, crafted from the freshest ingredients and traditional Thai spices. Together, these three spots perfectly showcase the charm, flavor, and culture of the area!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to every single volunteer of the Creative Society and the ALLATRA International Public Movement, which spans 180 countries. These are my heroes. Not one person gets paid or is told what to do, yet together we have learned to be selfless for a project that unites millions.
Today, as the global community faces the growing threat of climate change, the pursuit of security and sustainability has become essential for everyone. This urgent situation demands immediate and decisive collective action. The volunteers of the Creative Society are dedicating their efforts to building a future free from the struggle for survival in the face of climate challenges.
