We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Hersshman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Consistency, curiosity, adaptability, strong relationships, and taking action.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a journey of curiosity, persistence, and building strong relationships. As a Client Director at Cisco, I’ve had the privilege of working with leading healthcare institutions like Penn Medicine, CHOP, Jefferson, and Temple, helping them leverage technology to improve patient care and operational efficiency. What sets me apart is my ability to connect the dots between innovation and real-world impact, ensuring that technology serves people in meaningful ways.

But it wasn’t always easy. The tech and healthcare industries move fast, and staying ahead requires constant learning and adaptability. I’ve faced challenges—from navigating complex enterprise environments to proving my value in a male-dominated field. I overcame them by leaning into my strengths: building trust, staying resilient, and embracing a problem-solving mindset.

One of my proudest achievements is bridging the gap between cutting-edge tech and practical applications that drive better outcomes. Whether it’s IoT, AI, or cloud solutions, I love helping organizations make smart technology choices that simplify workflows and enhance experiences.

Beyond my corporate role, I’m passionate about technology’s role in everyday life, which is why I’m building an Instagram brand focused on tech that simplifies life and launching a podcast, Technout, to explore how enterprises can be more forward-thinking with their tech choices.

My biggest lesson? Success isn’t about being the smartest person in the room; it’s about being the most adaptable, the most collaborative, and the most willing to take action. I want my story to show that you don’t have to fit a mold to succeed—you just have to find what drives you, embrace the challenges, and keep moving forward.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Success is never a solo journey. My shoutout goes to the incredible mentors, colleagues, and friends who’ve shared their wisdom, challenged my thinking, and pushed me to grow. I’d also give credit to my family for their unwavering support and encouragement. And of course, books—so many books! From “The Lean Startup” to “Atomic Habits,” they’ve shaped my mindset and approach. Surrounding yourself with the right people and knowledge makes all the difference.
