How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Our community is comprised of some absolutely brilliant entrepreneurs and so we asked a few of them to tell us the story of how they came up with the ideas for their business.
While trying to find a pork-free charcuterie board, that was still aesthetically pleasing, I hit a dead end. I began to create pork-free boards and that’s how No Graze Off was born. Hank a Roo Readings come from both of my children. Hank is my Henry, and Roo is my daughter, Harper. Her nickname is Roo like kangaroo. When I was pregnant with her I always joked that she jumped instead of kicked. She has had the name Roo ever since. Read more>>
Interestingly, I wasn’t ever thinking of opening my own massage therapy school. What prompted me were a couple (now licensed) therapists who were still in school at the time who I had the honor of unofficially mentoring for a short time. It was during this time that I realized where there was still quite a bit of content I could offer beyond what they were receiving at the respective schools they were attending. Content that I felt was imperative to know before graduation and working on clients. I had been working in the wellness sphere for over 25 years already, most of those years also as a wellness educator, so I felt giving back to the profession in this way should be the next logical step.
