We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This is a great question. I have had many moments that I contemplated giving up. For me, I know whether to keep going or not by the fruit of my labor. I examine the outcomes that my business produces quarterly or yearly. If I make changes and I am still not getting successful outcomes, it may be time to revisit the drawing board or change the strategy.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a Christian therapy and coaching practice called Holding Space Therapeutic Collective, PLLC. I am most excited about the expansion of my work. I have an upcoming speaking engagement where the focus of conversation will be around suicide. I got where I am today business wise by trial an error, showing myself compassion while learning from mistakes. It was not easy at all. I overcame challenges by relying on my faith in Jesus Christ and on my support system. I would like the world to know that this work, helping others is my life’s calling and I am accepting new therapy and coaching clients!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to grab a coffee in the morning at a local cafe, then we would go for a nice nature hike (depending on the weather), we would end the day finding some rom-com on netflix and vegging out with takeout for the rest of the night! I always love to visit the downtown of a city. There is usually rich culture and history in those areas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate a shout out to my mother. She has supported me from inception. She has always provided motivation and encouraging words when I wanted to give up. If it were not for her, I’m not sure that I would be as far along as I am now.
