Hi Amanda, how has your work-life balance changed over time?

I embrace a perspective that challenges the traditional notion of work-life balance, recognizing its inherent flaws. The concept gained prominence in the 1980s, permeating our daily lives through publications, news, and social media. However, achieving equilibrium in all aspects of life is often unrealistic. Instead of pursuing an elusive balance, I advocate for the concept of counterbalance.

There are weeks in my photography journey where demands necessitate more time than an entire year combined. In such instances, I prioritize counterbalancing by deliberately allocating extra time in the subsequent week for rest and quality family moments. It’s about recognizing and adapting to the ebb and flow of demands.

Additionally, I’ve reintroduced the idea of Sabbath Sundays into my life. In the past, businesses used to close on Sundays, granting humans the opportunity to rest and decelerate. In our household, we’ve established ‘Soulful Sundays,’ a time to sleep in, express gratitude, and engage in activities that nourish our souls. It serves as a refreshing pause—a moment to reset, rest, reflect, and recharge for the upcoming week.

My business, Amanda Bergeron Photography and Design Co., is a unique blend of photography and social media marketing services. What sets us apart is our commitment to capturing not just moments, but the essence of stories. We specialize in lifestyle, family, and branding photography, creating images that resonate with authenticity and emotion. Our social media marketing support empowers businesses to grow their reach and engage with their audiences effectively.

2. What sets you apart from others, and what are you most proud of or excited about?
I am internationally published and take pride in building relationships with each of my clients! What sets us apart is the fusion of creative storytelling in photography and strategic social media marketing. I take pride in delivering not just photographs but visual narratives that leave a lasting impact. I’m excited about the continuous evolution of my business, adapting to new trends and technologies to offer innovative and personalized services.

3. How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
The journey to where I am today has been both challenging and rewarding. Starting wasn’t easy, but passion and perseverance fueled my progress. Challenges were overcome through continuous learning, adapting to market dynamics, and building a strong network of support. Embracing challenges as opportunities for growth has been a key mindset.

4. What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
One significant lesson is the importance of flexibility and adaptability in the ever-changing business landscape. Building genuine connections with clients and collaborators fosters long-term success. Embracing a mindset of continuous learning and staying curious about industry trends has been instrumental.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Embarking on a journey filled with exploration and joy, our day would commence with a tranquil sunrise walk along the shores of Lake Huron, immersing ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of the dawn. The adventure unfolds as we venture to the enchanting Iargo Springs, discovering the mesmerizing waterfalls and captivating views of the Ausable River.

Our culinary interlude would lead us to Edelweiss Tavern in Oscoda, a perfect spot to savor a delicious lunch. Roaming through the heart of town, we’d explore local gems such as To The Moon and Back, The Tea Emporium, Styled by Blake, The Red Barn, B-Trendy Boutique, and The Ausable River Store, embracing the charm of Oscoda.

A leisurely visit to Oscoda Beach Park and a stroll along the Pier would follow, creating moments of serenity and appreciation. The sweet note of our day would be the delectable ice cream from Parkside Dairy, a treat to savor. Finishing our day off with a movie at the Lake Theatre

Taking our time, I’d have the pleasure of introducing my companion to the warmth of friendships, the spirit of the locals, and the serendipity of meeting new faces. The following days would unfold as we explore the captivating landscapes from Tawas to Alpena, creating memories that resonate with the essence of each place we visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I want to express a heartfelt shoutout, starting with gratitude to my heavenly father. His boundless love and unwavering support have been guiding forces throughout my life, opening new doors and shaping my path to serve on Earth as he deems fit.

A special acknowledgment goes to my family, especially my mom—my lifelong cheerleader. Her support has been a constant in all my endeavors, and I owe the woman I am today to her unwavering encouragement.

I also extend my appreciation to my grandparents. My Grandma instilled in me the values of confidence and embracing challenges, always with a touch of red lipstick. My Grandpa embodies stoicism, accepting situations as they are and moving forward with respect and non-judgment.

To my husband, whose love has introduced me to a joy I never knew existed. He adds a sense of fun and excitement to life.

Last but certainly not least, my son is a beacon of fresh and powerful light in every situation. He is my greatest gift and the driving force behind my daily dedication to all that I do.
