Meet Gail Perry-Mason

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gail Perry-Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gail, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
From foster care to uplifting others, I believe that serving is my divine assignment in life. My profession revolves around investments, but my true passion lies in investing in people. For the past 30 years, I have forgone vacations, dedicating that time to empowering our youth. Each summer, we guide over 300 young minds through lessons in financial literacy, economic empowerment, etiquette, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship.
Through our efforts, we have nurtured over 7,500 young investors, with more than a thousand now contributing to the financial and nonprofit industries. I live by the motto: “Success Benefits Others First, and We Must Send the Elevator Back Down to Lift the Next Generation.”
Our mission focuses on supporting youth from foster care, children with incarcerated parents, and countless others within the community. My goal is to ensure that no one is ever P.O.O.R.—Passed Over Opportunity Repeatedly. Our dedicated volunteer team works tirelessly to create opportunities that not only transform the lives of our young investors but also uplift entire families.
Below are a few examples of our impact:

What should our readers know about your business?
FOR A LIVING I WORK IN THE FINANCIAL SERVICE INDUSTRY ON WALL STREET AND INVEST FOR OTHERS. FOR A LIFE, I GIVE BACK AND SERVE TO INVEST IN OTHERS.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
TAKING THEM TO THE MOTOWN MUSEUM, CHARLES H. WRIGHT MUSEUM, DETROIT HISTORICAL MUSEUM AND THE DIA, AND MOST OF THE LUNCH SPOTS IN THE AREA. THEN WE’D TAKE A BIKE RIDE TO BELLE ISLE AND THE DETROIT RIVERFRONT. FOR THE NGIHT LIFE WE’D GO TO BURTS PLACE IN THE EASTERN MARKET AND BAKERS KEYBOARD LOUNGE. BRIX WINE IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT WOULD BE THE PERFECT SPOT FOR CONVERSATION AND TO POUR INTO EACH OTHER. WE COULD ALSO START THE MORNNING AT THE DEQUINDRE CUT AND CATCH A CONCERT AT THE ARETHA AMPITHEATER FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT JAZZ. WE’D DEFINITELY STOP BY TABLE FOR TWO AND GREEKTOWN IN DETROIT.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
SHOUTOUT TO MY SONS, BRANDON, DEXTER AND SCOTT FOR ALLOWING ME TO SUPPORT OTHERS AND SHOUTOUT TO ALL OF MY SISTERS RELATED BY LOVE AND MY ENTIRE FAMILY RELATED BY BLOOD AND LOVE BECAUSE F.A.M.I.L.Y. MEANS TO ME FORGET ABOUT ME I LOVE YOU
