We had the good fortune of connecting with Marina Lopes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Start a new business is never a easy process. Is also hard to tell with part is the toughest, but what come to my mind when you ask me something like this, I would say is all the regulations, licenses and permits you need to figure out and go trough it to make all right and not get in trouble. Also, overall is a very time consuming. You need to be available any time to whatever shows up. Some things need to be decided immediately, right the way. The cost is also something that can surprises you all the time, so is something which needs attention.
Button line, nothing is easy, but also not impossible. You only needs to be prepared and available to make it happen. You need to want to make it and wake up every morning thinking about how to get trough it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are really proud about what we have done until now, but what make us most proud is the quality of our products and process. That was something we have chase since we start the Business’ Plan and is what we consider our most important asset.

Going through all kind of researches we decided we would like to do something simple, but that could be fit from to the most basic to the highest sofiscated moments.

Based on that, we have decide our mission would be: “Provide practicality to people’s lives at any moment of the day, positively surprising with the versatility that our products offer, always delivering an extremely tasty and pleasant experience for everyone, which is guaranteed above all by the high-quality guidance from the selection of ingredients, going through the whole process until the final product”.

The challenges in some point looks like infinite, but we always went through all of them supporting ourselves and having a huge resilience. That is the name of the game: resilience.
A lot of things will go right, but a bunch of other ones will go wrong, but it can not stop you.

Our brand was created thinking on all of this. Something that can became your favorite choice for any moment. Something really good, easy to prep and very tasty, which can fit at any moment of your day, and on top of everything, with high quality.

The both Flavoreat Foods products – Cheese Bread and Mini Churros – can be consumed as breakfast, snack, lunch, side of something else, and so many other things.

Once you have them at your freezer and some inspected visit shows up, in a matter of minutes you can serve something really tasty, and easy to make.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love Michigan, were we live and consider our home from the last 8 years,

We would start from Detroit city – visiting downtown, the iconic GM building, Woodward avenue, Eastern Market, Motown Music museum and so many other nice places we love in Detroit, including so many good restaurants and bars.
Greenfield Village is as iconic place to go learn about Ford history and deserves to have some time dedicated to it.

For a week long trip, we would visit some wineries and breweries, some beaches on lake Michigan and Laker Huron, also Mackinac Island, Sleeping Bear, Upper Peninsula, Picture Rocks and so many other uncountable nice places on Michigan.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and above of all, my husband, which got trough all this process with me, since the most beginner, even when I was not even thinking about run our own business. He made my dream come true.

We came from Brazil to USA in 2015 and when we got here I have decided to dedicate more time to something which was always my passion, but I’ve never got time to do when we were living in Brazil – Food.

I took all kind of classes for all kind of things related with food and food preparation.
Studding about Gluten Free products, breads, all kinds of flours, plant in base foods, etc. I also study about food pictures/ food styling/food story telling.
In 2017 I took different classes at Institute of Culinary in NYC.

Then when we already have decided to make this a business, I got the Food Management Process certificate (Food Protection Manager, approved by MDARD and Safe Food Program in Michigan.
