Meet Rachel Lipson

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Lipson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always felt passionate about helping people use clothes to feel their most confident. For years, i’d advise my friends and family about which dress was the best option, which necklace made the most sense, or which colours worked together etc.
After 15+ years in the fashion industry, ranging from wholesale to retail, merchandising, buying, and marketing, I wanted to put my heart into something that was fulfilling and gave me purpose.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I consider my career in the fashion industry thus far to be very well-rounded. Prior to starting my business, I’ve had experience as a National Sales Manager for a massive brand, a Merchandiser, Buyer, Sourcer, Assistant to a celebrity stylist, and Live Shopping TV Style expert (current).
Throughout those years, I learned how important it is to adapt to your environment, work as team player, never be the smartest person in the room, do things outside of your comfort zone, and not take yourself too seriously.
As someone who has always struggled with Imposter syndrome, making the decision to start Rachel Lipson Styling was hard, uncomfortable and risky, but ultimately the best decision. I’m proud of myself for being vulnerable and having the will to go for it. I am completely fulfilled by helping my clients achieve their styling goals and watching their confidence shine through.
I want the world to know that my brand is about celebrating individuality. Having ‘good style’ means showing up for yourself, understanding what makes you happy and having fun with fashion regardless of what anyone else thinks.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
