Meet Starlin Hamilton | Owner | Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Starlin Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Starlin, how do you define success?
I believe success is subjective.
Success to me is fulfillment. It’s often defined as getting to a certain financial level. For me, I do want to be “wealthy” for sure, but not ONLY in terms of money, but in relationships, in impact, in health, and in my ability to be able to have the resources to help others.
Working yourself to be in the position to have the freedom to do what you want, when you want & not to say you’re happy everyday but you love what you do, that’s fulfillment. That’s success to me.
I believe everyone is on their personal path, when you can take a step back from comparison, you can really find what matters to you. Everyone should be able to define success for themselves.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The name see no evil comes really just from the mindset to live life your way. To do it your way, not just taking what society gives you and wants you to see, but to create the life & world that you want.
I initially created the see-no evil page to be like a digital mood board, giving people a place to see like a curated collection of art in its different forms, from fashion, sneakers, architecture, music, highlighting the art in everyday life.
With me always so passionate about fashion, the plan was always to have the physical product behind it. As the brand continues to grow, the plan is that under the “see-no evil” umbrella, serve as a creative direction agency. Where we collaborate with other brands to run their creative as well as growing other legs or branches in fashion & other industries.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First off we’re working out every morning before we do anything lol, the gym I go to is about 15 minutes away, so after we get that good 2hrs out of the way we’re good….
I like keeping my chill spots lowkey, on an ‘if you know, you know’ basis lol, but if I’m in Flint, we’d run to Bau House on Buckham Alley downtown for sure. I’d take them on a food tour, hitting all the classic flint spots. Then we’d probably spend majority of the time hanging out somewhere around the Detroit, Troy, Birmingham area
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents, for exposing me at a young age to different places & ways of living. We’d take these vacations or a small road trip in the summers growing up and that alone helped show me how big the world is. Kind of taught me to never be limited to where I am in the moment. That pushed me to feel that anything in life was attainable, which led me for wanting certain things for myself, which led me to striving to create a life based solely on what I want it to be.
