In my career, I’ve been faced with tough decisions where there was no clear “right” answer. Taking risks has been a necessary part of my growth—whether it was walking away from a steady job to chase a bigger opportunity, or stepping into a role I wasn’t 100% sure I was ready for. My business helps the community through inspirational literature that bridges the gap between depression, anxiety and other mental illness and mental stability. We have donated hundreds of journals to women’s shelters in our community to offer as a beacon of light and hope in dire circumstances. Everyone faces times in life where things are complex, hard or tough to deal with or get through and unfortunately it’s easy to lose hope and give up when your back is severely pressed against the wall. What makes me most happy is connection and communication with others via similarities (and also differences). I think oftentimes music, and other art forms, allow us to speak to and understand each other in a gentler and more empathetic way. I often find myself making sense of people and occurrences in my life through music and art that reminds me of them. For me, live performance has been a particular source of happiness and a connector because the face-to-face aspect allows dialogue and directness with a diverse group of people. Read More>>
