Pivot or Persevere?

To pivot or to persevere? Or more bluntly – to give up or to not to give up? This is a haunting question, a question that has ramifications far after an answer has been chosen and it’s also a question that almost everyone in our community has had to face at one time or another. How do you know when to give up and when to keep trying?
I feel there are a million reasons to keep going and not give up, despite the challenges that we face, in spaces where we create “peak experiences”. These experiences are where we have goosebumps that are induced by a state of euphoria. Read more>>

When I first launched my business in 2022, it was a HUGE success! I had booming sales and could barely keep up with orders. fast forward to 2024, I have done less than a quarter of the sales I did in 2022 and am reaching and grasping for sales nowadays. why don’t I just give up? because I LOVE painting nails. I LOVE the one customer per week who feels more empowered and more beautiful just by putting on a set of nails I created. If you are consistent and you enjoy what you are doing, then KEEP GOING! the sales will come. the customers will come, just be consistent and keep doing what you do best, even in the slow seasons. I see giving up and continuing as symbiotic partners. I do both everyday. Sometimes I give up on a thought that isn’t evolving, a feeling that’s not serving me, a truth that needs to change, or something bigger like internalized ableism or perfectionism. It’s often the giving up that keeps me going because it creates the space for growth, like cutting dead branches off a tree so the rest can thrive.
